Magnetic Locks

A magnetic lock (also called a mag lock) is an electromagnetic locking device used for securing doors, gates, and access control systems. It relies on an electromagnet and an armature plate to create a strong holding force when energized, keeping the door locked until power is removed or an access control system releases it.

Advantages of Magnetic Locks:

Fast & Silent Operation – No moving parts, making them durable and quiet.
Strong Holding Force – Can withstand 600–1,500 lbs of force, depending on the model.
Ease of Installation – No need for complex door modifications like mortise locks.
Integration with Access Control – Works seamlessly with keypads, RFID readers, and biometric systems.
Fire Safety Compliance – Releases during power failures or fire alarms for emergency egress.
